Dr. SHAHIDULLAH (SABUJ) has gained a vast experience in Interventional Neurology and Medicine through a series of training in different countries: USA, Switzerland, India, Thailand and Bangladesh.

Biography:

Dr. Md. Shahidullah (MBBS. FCPS. MD.) is a physician, a neurologist, a stroke specialist, an interventionist and an associate professor of Neurology at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh.

He is best known for his special work in stroke and in neuro-intervention.

Dr. Md. Shahidullah was born in 1972 in Khulna, Bangladesh. He earned his medical degree at Sher – E – Bangla Medical College (SBMC). Barisal in 1999. He worked as honorary medical officer in Medicine department of BSMMU in 2001. He entered into government job through BCS in 2003. He stood 21st position in 21st BCS examination and was posted in upazilla health complex. He did his post graduate medicine training from Sher –E–Bangla Medical College (SBMC) Hospital, Barisal. He entered in MD course in BSMMU in 2004 and completed his post graduate degree in Neurology from the same institution in January 2010. He passed FCPS (Medicine) exam in July 2010 and got fellowship from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).  He joined as a fellow in Max Superspeciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, India. Under Dr. Shakir Hussain in a fellowship programme named “Fellowship in Interventional Neurology and Stroke Therapy” for 1 year. After that he joined as an Assistant Professor of Neurology in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in October 2011. He got promotion as Associate Professor of Neurology on 01/02/2016.

In 2012, Dr. Md. Shahidullah Sabuj began working in the sector of Neurointervention and he is one of the two who had established this new super specialty in neurology department of BSMMU.  This new area of neurology deals with the patient of stroke. He has done hundreds of cerebral angiogram (DSA), stenting of carotid vessels, coiling of aneurysm, embolization of AVM, AVF. This is very new subject in Bangladesh. So, effort is continuing to establish this new subject in BSMMU. Next goal is to get a separate Cath Lab for Neurointervention.

Sunday and Tuesday – Interventional work in angiography suite in paedi cardiology cath lab.

Monday – Stroke clinic

Wednesday – Ward round, taking bed side class

Saturday & Thursday—research work, consultancy for referral patients.
