State University of Bangladesh started its journey with a view for providing and marinating a high-quality affordable education for the students and prepare them for the challenges of the future. The SUB provides students and faculty exceptional opportunities for intellectual, personal and professional growth. Housed in its own city campus at Dhanmondi, SUB is well equipped with library and computing laboratory facilities to fulfill the needs of students. It ensure the maximum resources available to support teaching and research for an academic environment and enrichment of scholarly activities.

The SUB has also established liaison with different universities in the developing countries for accessing and benefiting from their academic and research activities. The university took the initiative to organize the Third International Conference on Impact of Global Issues on Women and Children in collaboration with McMaster University, Canada from February 12th -16th 2006 at Dhaka. The conference was partially funded by CIDA and USAID. Representative from thirty eight countries joined the conference to share their experience. Furthermore, SUB has more than hundred international students in various programs.
